All things considered, it looks like my self image took the most damage

So my best guess, considering the straps are not torn, and that all my bolts are still there, is that I missed a bolt hole. The built in washer pinched the strap, holding it for multiple test drives, tricking me into thinking it was done. Big time torque was all that was necessary to rip the driveshaft loose. What can I say, freak accident? Crit fail on intelligence? Gonna blame working on jackstands in my driveway, it results in doing alot of stuff blind. Got some new moog high strength u joints (non greasable), new straps and bolts. Floor looks like it can be pounded into shape, I don’t have a welder but brazing has been working good as a temp fix. Think I’m gonna get some plates welded on before I have any rear passengers.

What am I looking at through the hole?

Rear end of the driveshaft and differential yoke

I was going to suggest Lakewood U-joints and ARP bolts , but use what you have. It was not a parts failure after all. Loctite them bolts and maybe consider a driveshaft safety loop.

Those seem relatively inexpensive and simple to install. I was not aware.

ARP is overkill for what this is making. Only like 310 hp. 425 lb ft of torque is pretty gnarly though.

Whenever I have done a significant power upgrade, I have upgraded the driveline as well. The OEM parts were chosen for the OEM power level. Eliminate the weak links and go for durable and gain reliability. And yeah, driveshaft safety loops are cheap insurance.

These though, they are built for pre smog standards. All I have really done is bring it back to that.
